Surprised and delighted to find this MX5 part on Locostbuilders!
So just bought a 1999 1.8 Mk2 in need of some TLC, 157K on the clock!
Any recommendations as to how I can get a spring back into her step?
12 months MOT but brakes need overhaul, had her up on a ramp and rust not too much of a problem, intend to start at the front and work backwards.
Would welcome any insight as to any quick gains or problems areas that I should attend to first.

I know nothing about MX5 except that they are cheap!

So if the engine is long in its tooth and a little loose then considering buying an engine that has more bounce in its bang!

Get it rust proofed the maker didn't bother with any. I've recently been looking for one and just given up as all I see are rust buckets, looked at one only 5 years old a mk 3 and only 15k on the clock that had more rust underneath than my 30 year old landy
