coolant sensor

I tried asking this on mx5nutz but wondered if anyone had a clearer answer

Could anyone help with coolant temp sensor wiring?

I have a mk2 1.8 engine with a coolant reroute done and I'm using megasquirt 2 extra. The sensor is the triangle shape 3 pin one.

Wires are:
Violet/white
black/red
red/purple

it then goes into the fuel injector harness plug and changes to.
blue/white
black/blue
black/blue

i could do with knowing which one is signal which one is gauge and what is the other for, i thought it can't be ground as the sensor is grounded in the head.

Cheers

I've already looked at that....but obviously not close enough

Violet/white are to the gauge, one of the other colours must be to a warning light and other is to megasquirt. I think if i do a continuity test from one of these to the actual sensor to find which one is sensor ground the other must be to megasquirt.
