Busted by the feds......
Oops....
So saw a police car driving into my close this morning, was having a good nose out the window to see where they were going.... missus was telling me i
should just go and ask them what they're do if i'm so interested!
Anyway, was no need for that because about a minute later i get a knock on the door from the very police!
I have been given a telling off for driving my kit in the close endangering pedestrians etc. Fair enough i suppose really, it's not been
iva'd or anything so they do have a point, but why can't neighbours just come and talk to you directly instead of having to phone the old
bill?
Oh well, guess i have to behave now....

What harm was you doing, I assume you wasn't doing handbrake turns etc ?
IVA it, tax and insure it - then drive it up and down your Close until you run out of petrol

haha, my thoughts exactly.
If the neighbour concerned came and talked to me it would have been sorted out there and then and i'd be "more considerate" or
something.
Just annoys me that people just phone the old bill over such a trivial matter

When I started my motor for the first time and turned the car around in my cul-de-sac I had most of my neighbours around for a quick look-see very
shortly afterwards!
TBH, they could have got you for all sorts of traffic offences (no tax, no insurance, etc.) so I think you got off lightly. If it was me I'd
take the telling-off and be more careful for a while.

Let me just quickly correct this as I have a belting example from last night at work to disprove this.
Women phones us, is having argument with husband who has hit her in head.
Get to address, woman gives sob story and husband produces iPhone with recording of her saying she was going to lie and fit him up to the police.
Excellent! and totally blows your statement out of the water as she was hauled away for a lonely night without shoelaces

always take the bollickking, and avoid being "clever".....
There are a number of different ways to deal with uninsured, unregistered, dangerous cars. Worse scenario is they seize your car, and summonse you for
the motoring stuff.
You obviously nodded and looked apologetic at the right times, your intolerant anon neighbour has fired one across your bows, dont let them catch you
out again.
Like all profession there are knackers within, seems you got two decent types still capable of using common sense.

No. He would have been locked up on suspicion of assault.
I have to work within certain constraints and guidelines. Like it or not and when an allegation has been made, I'm duty bound to investigate and
in the respect of domestic assault then there really is no leaway. Remove the alleged agressor from the location for questioning.
This was only an example that sprung to mind as it only occurred less than 24 hours away. I'm afraid that you're showing your narrow view
in saying that liars always get away with it. We're under a lot of pressure and have been give a lot more discretion back to deal with false
reporting and beleieve me, it is dealt with. No one likes a lying time waster in the same way that you wouldn't appreciate it in whatever your
line of business is.

Nope. I think discretion was used perfectly in this case.
As said the neighbour should have really had a word themselves imo. It just creates divisions in the neighbourhood and I stand by what I always say.
There's nowt worse than bad neighbours.

when I first fired my locost up I got a visit from the council a short while later!!
My elderly, and incredibly two faced, neighbour, had reported me for running it at 13:00-14:00 ish on a sunday afternoonm for maybe 5-10 mins to set
the throttle body balance up.
She never spoke to me, or even came out of the house!
the council guy was just doing his job, fair enough, he seemed to realise I wasn't a troublemaker and loeft seeming happy enough.
A couple of weeks later I had a "chat" with my neighbour, and asked why she hadn't spoken to me, and why she was spreading rumours
amongst any neighbours that would listen about how bad I was, even though she was as nice as pie to me and regularly brought cakes over, and not to
mention that I had fixed here car foc several times, plus put out a fire in her kitchen, taken here to fetch a new fridge etc etc..
Fortunately I am friendly with all the other neighbours and know exactly what she was saying to them!
She has now started complaining about my dog, even though he is only at home in the evening, with me, never barks (well, maybe once or twice,
literally in two days, and he is only a lab pup! ) and she had a dog until recently that barked every morning and night................
Nosey cow basically. Our little chat reduced her to tears, and the following day there was a big routine with an ambulance, whereupon she spouted
another, contradictory load of cobblers to the paramedics (I know as my missus was with her making sure she was ok at the time) and the medics decided
there was absolutely nothing wrong with her!
Bloody nosey old bastards with too much time on their hands cause a huge amount of neighbourly grief. If only people would just get the hell on with
it and realise that they will be dead too soon anyway, without all the time wasted complaining!

I have to say that whenever mine has gone up and down the street - completely unlicensed of course - the neighbours came out to wave hello! I was
spending all my time apologising for the noise and lack of plates, and all they wanted was rides! Especially the girls, which for old people like me,
is great!

I have old people either side of me and regular rev the tits off mine, with, and without, exhausts/silencers, and, varies bikes inside the garage.. I
never hear a peep off either. However theres a nosey old trout out the back who complains all the time, slips nasty notes through the letterbox
threatening this that and other... not about engines but everyone's dogs and the bloke opposite with ducks and hens and a 5am cockerel
Whoever it is has given up as the council have done bot all.
The other nose in the street is a councillor who quite likes my automotive creations but winges on about the dog!
I seem to be able to make as much noise in the garage as I like but nobody likes animals round here. I've now upgraded to a V8 and cannot wait
to get the thing fired up, that should shut the dog up and I'll see if I can wake the olds up!!

I am surprised the cops had time to come out to such a trivial complaint,We had two forklift trucks stolen and the police were too busy to send anyone
round but did give us a crime number.
Denis.
Where did that go?
