2009 Ford Kuga needing a replacement turbo... Any recommended suppliers? There appear to be a lot of them out there and would rather go to somewhere known..

Hi

Is that the 1.6 diesel engine? If it is I would recommend putting the cheapest turbo you can get on it and outing it pronto.

The engine is renowned for eating turbos, the oil ways to the oil feed block up, so once one goes they last about 6 months and it will need another. Most places ( including euro car parts) won't warrant them.

If it's not as you were, euros do oe turbos, plus some cheap rubbish as well.

Sorry to be the possible bearer of bad news

If it's the 1.6 diesel engine I have a feeling Ford use a PSA (Peugeot) engine for this. Don't profess to know much about the engines or turbo chargers though.

I think legally they'd have to prove it was not their unit at fault.

That said, surely a flush of the oil ways is a walk in the park?

2.0 Tdi

Phew that's a relief!

They fail due to low oil pressure to the turbo, they specifically say that no warranty is given if the turbo fails prematurely due to lack of oil pressure as it is a known issue with that engine.

We did a Belingo van, changed the feed pipes and the oil pump, as recommended, still only lasted 6 months.

Suspect it's failed due to my wife driving it like Miss Daisy and not taking it for any long runs. Have seen overboost errors. Suspect vanes have coked up and put undue pressure on the bearings.
