Afternoon all,

After some advice regarding clutch options in my dax rush,
I'm looking to change as I'm getting slip in 4th and 5th when loading on the power . I'm running a dje built and tuned 4.6 mated to a r380 box.
It's running about 310bhp and 380 ibft of torque, possible options would be greatly appreciated.

I fitted a new clutch to my Seight last winter, 7000 miles this year, no problem.
RPI 4.6, Merlin heads, ACT carbon plenum.

I used a Helix pressure plate, part no. 602503.

Same clutch, although dropped in a DB7 as I through away the DMF for a lighter solid flywheel, helix will do a bonded driven plate however I got them to make me a 5 paddle ceramic with sprung centre, it's not that harsh, slight judder sometimes that is all. Think it was around £250.

Ordered through mardigras Motorsport.

Car gets sprinted, 370lb of torque never even felt like slipping when off the pedal, bites off the line 100% always.

Afternoon all, received my new helix cover plate part number 602503 and noticed the circular plate on top of the fingers, What clutch release bearing did you use with this please and I'm guessing you stuck with the slave and arm rather than a hydraulic bearing??

just bolt it up on the floor with the arm, if it fits you are good to go, if the additional ring reduces movement because it pushes the release bearing to far back pull it off and throw away.

No need to purchase a hydraulic bearing if what you have works.

Morning Mark, the plate looks to be fixed so I'm just wondering if I will be requiring a flat release bearing or a cone type that my last clutch had can still be used.

Flat bearings are used with curved fingers,
Curved bearings are used with flat fingers.
I presume the circular plate you mention is flat and would not deflect? So I would say you need a flat bearing. Helix should let you know?

FWIW i'm using a Helix clutch for my supercharged 4.6 and T5 Tremec box (apparently used in TVR Tuscan race cars according to Helix), it was the one they recommended me anyway. Don't know the PN. Works fine, never felt like slipping with around 400BHP, although when stuck in traffic does get a bit heavy after a while!
