Indicator repeaters

What is the tried and tested location of indicator repeaters on a Haynes Roadster that keeps Mr IVA happy?

Finding it tricky to judge without actually having bought them yet (and not knowing which ones to buy to suit optimal position).

photos would also be appreciated

If it ain't broken, fix it anyway (just because).

On the front arches is a spot that's fine, rear arches are fine on most cars, but you do have to check the distance from the front of the car to make sure it's within the figures in IVA manual

You need to make them look permanent though,so wiring needs to be fixed under the arches and protected properly etc.

Lots of people leave them on the arches, recessed in etc.

anyone got any photos, can’t recall seeing indicators on front cycle wings on cars at stoneleigh, but I suppose I wasn’t looking for them at the time!

I like that, that is bound to be visible from anywhere - certain IVA pass (on repeaters anyway!)

Mounted on mirrors worked for me too, shame the mirrors fell off after the test

They meet all the IVA requirements placed there

Majority of Westfield's have them on front wings

I put one in my rear wing and the IVA tester pointed to a page in the IVA manual where it says they cannot be more than 2.something metres from the very front of the car. They couldn't go on the scuttle either and had to be visible from a line 5 deg or less from the outermost edge of the car by a following vehicle. I moved mine to the edge of the front wings as Coskev3 has and no issues there and passed IVA. The ones I had were the small led round ones from CBS.

I’m thinking about mounting on outer edge of wing mirrors, don’t really fancy having a cable out to my front cycle wings, anyone got a photo of the cable running along the front wishbone to the cycle wings?

I got some stick on led strip indicators and stuck them to the rear of the front arches. They were wired into the front indicators via two sureseal connectors so after Iva they were just unplugged. The looms went through conduit and tywrapped to the mudguard brackets.

They passed fine and were easy to remove afterwards. I didn’t have the space in my front arches to mount some neatly so it now has LED ones in the scuttle
