New Fisher Fury owner

NEARLY....

Just one more payment and the removal of an old car from the driveway or from the barn and I'll have room for an older Fury running 1700 Crossflow (allegedly) with 4 speed box and Escort axle.
Needs a proper cleanup all round and my thoughts are moving in these directions...
Zetec with V6 Type 9 just because it's easier to fit than an engine with the intake and exhaust the other way round, I do however have spare Pinto's
My thoughts about the rear axle are confused, not sure on type and diff ratio and am wondering about the feasibility of a dedion axle using a Sierra 3.9 with ATB cos I have one available.
From here on any other views and thoughts welcomed as I formulate a plan

Plenty of zetec fury run the live axle, should be an escort English axle, easy to tell, measure the distance between casing flanges and search online, same axle fitted to Anglia, cortina, ela, escort, early Capri but in different widths. stick a 3.9 or 4.125 ratio with a quaife atb diff and it should be good for road and occasional track. Easy swap so more time for driving than a long winded conversion. Also recommend the Chester sports cars bike carb kit, look at the blue one for sale, this is my old car and is fitted with it, stock silver top and makes a torquey 165hp.
