rover t series engine

Hi guys
Need a question answering
What rwd gearbox could I use to bolt to a rover 2.0 t series t16 turbo engine
I'm sure I read somewhere it has the same bolt pattern as a k series engine
If that's the case would i use a ford box and a one off bell housing

There was a chap by the name of Jan Snape with a Tomcat turbo motor in his Westfield, ran at Curborough for a number of years. Went like a bullet in a strait line but a real handful in corners. When I was sprinting my bog standard Zetec was on about the same pace. He was not on the same planet as similarly powered N/A cars.

Probably better at tracks with longer straits and fewer corners.

Have a look at the LT77 gearbox.

I used a lt77 out of a Sherpa van. Bell housing, clutch etc all bolts together.

T series doesn't have a bell housing pattern, it uses an adapter plate. I've still got a couple in the garage that bolt on the engine but have different patterns for the bell housing. Can't for the live of me remember what they are off!

Everything off the Sherpa bolted together for my turbo striker.

Bit more for ya....

16v T motor with an ali adapter plate for a PG1 gearbox. This bolts to the back of the block behind the flywheel.

This is an L series sherpa job that is just a slab of steel although its oem. Comes off to be replaced by anything you want to make.

Its been done to death, theres tons of info on the net, google t series adapter plate.

I've just been upto the classic car show at the nec and I got talking to a guy there who makes adapter plates for various engines that bolt to a rx8 6 speed box and he told me he could make the t series fit the rx8 box aswell
This has got me thinking now

It is really an MGB engine with a 16v head so look up MGB convsrsions on the web.

It's getting hold of the o series plate
I've just got a b series plate but that's a different one that don't match the sd1 2000 bellhousing
