What width and offset wheels
Paulh12 - 14/11/18 at 10:17 PM

I'm building an mx5 based roadster and want to run 13" wheels.

What width rims would you recommend front and rear and what offsets?

Thanks

I would suggest you need to post the kit you are using?

But another though, will 13"wheels fit over the calipers? Clearances are often tight with std wheels, going smaller may not work?

Go bigger! Better tyre choices in my opinion.

I'm running:

16x7 on the front with a 225/45/16

17x9 on the rear with a 255/40/17

My new 330mm discs only just fit.

It is a kit I bought part finished. I am believe it is a Saturn kit.

From what I have read on a number of mx5 forums most 13" wheels will fit over the standard mk1 1.6 brake setup.

Hopefully thats not a seven type car?

17 inch wheels ruin sevens.

15's are ok,but once you try 13's you won't go back up for sure

13's don't normally fit over Haynes rear uprights. Certainly the case with Sierra stuff, not sure when using MX5 so you need to check. 15's is the norm.
