a few of the autograss boys have used them, unlikely to be on std ecus though
Not much info online.
It seams they weigh 140kg and have a very strong 6 speed box as standard. 300bhp out of the box.
Maybe when the price comes down even lower people might start using them more. 4000 UK Registered 350z's and I can imagine more and more getting
written off therefore more cheap parts for us
The 350z box is very sturdy, the spiritual successor to the 300zx box which shares internals with the skyline 2wd rb25 box. I have a mazworks adaptor
to fit the 300zx box to my CA18DET.
Iirc the Vq35DE is shared with renualt (nissan and renault share some tech tieups in certain markets). The silhouette race chassis maker (cant
remember the name) that made the mid engined spaceframe Megane V6 race cup cars used this engine badged as renault. They then sold other body sets for
ither series, things like belgian supercar series, volvks and KIAs iirc. I think AER engine developments developed the engine and made dry sump
setups, intakes pistons rods all manner of goodies but high end pricing. Im sure it also found its way into endurance racers for Le Petit le mans tok
but may have not been badged as nissan due to chassis and sponsor conflicts so was probably badged as an AER
Iirc one of the yank tuners makes a supercharger conversion might be Vortech which often are low impact on an engine so you get a good gain without needing forgies and steel rods
I'd be shocked if it was 140kg, my 370z does not feel like that light up front!!
An alternative is the Jag 3.0l v6 out of the S-Type, rwd, stock is around 250hp upto 300hp with TBs, and these are a lot cheaper than the Nissan unit and there are a few now being used in kit/classic cars (there is a westie with one in on jenveys if you google).
