Mounting a JAW AFR display?
I'm looking for some bright ideas...
At the moment I'm having to tape the display module from my JAW AFR meter to the top of the dashboard...

The JAW is only for occasional use, but it does look untidy and doesn't stay where it's put very well.
Can anyone think of a better idea for temporary fixing? I was wondering about something magnetic (the scuttle's covered in steel sheet) but it
would have to be something that wouldn't scratch the paint.

I dont have a display for mine yet but I datalog using megasquirt software.The JAW has a facility for logging so maybe you would be better off to use
that and then review the logs when not driving ,I find it very difficult to watch and interpret a gauge and drive fast at the same time.You could
connect the datalog header on the JAW to give a log of revs and maybe add a second tps for the load .
Could you use some adhesive backed velcro for mounting the display? I use it to retain the pda that i datlog with on the dashboard.

The next version of the Megajolt firmware should have an input for external data (e.g. from the JAW), so that's what I'll do when that
arrives (imminent).
Until then I just wanted to get the car into a drivable state, initially to see why the engine was dying on full throttle (now I know - see thread in
the engine topic area).
As for velcro - I don't want to put anything permanent on the top of the dash.
Has anyone used that magnetic rubber sheet? If so, how well does it grip?

Hi
The flexible magnetic material I have seen has a rather poor level of attraction, Iwould suggest rare earth metal magnets bonded to the display with
the dash contact surface protected with self adhesive vinyl or felt.

Adapt one of the PDA windscreen mounting brackets, should give a very strong mounting without damaging the surface of the gel coat.
Something like
this perhaps?
