Who drives their locost everyday?
southpaw - 27/2/06 at 06:52 PM

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. I can't help but think that maybe its a stupid idea, I mean its not practical at all, they don't have doors or a proper roof...

So does anyone on here drive their car everyday, come sun, rain or snow?

I need convincing...

Providing you have a hood and side screens theres no reason not to drive it everyday, just be carefull in the wet (light back ends) They should be no different or less secure than any soft top. Would be good if you had somewhere secure to leave it while at work.

My very first kit car was my triumph based
Robin Hood. I had it just over a year and drove it more or less every single day of that time. I took it to work 17 miles each day, drove it in the sun / rain and snow. I had an absolute blast with it even though it was actually rubbish
I remember stopping once to help someone who had broken down and gave him a lift to the next town to phone help. He had obviously never experienced such an open basic car before. I swear his sphincter muscle would have kept him in the car if anything untowards had happened.

Having said all of that, the next one will see very little road use at all.

Well when i get mine done it will be my only car...

Either get wet weather gear for the car or you (biker clothing is probably best) then theres no reason really not to use it every day. the only problem I see is with security, but there are ways around that sort of thing.

Every day

that it's not raining

or snowing

or looking like it might rain

or snow

Or it's having a new gearbox

or new front shockers

or I've got a headache.

Almost every day.

Cheers

Chris

Once mine's built it'll be my only car until it gets too damn cold to drive ti and i have to either fit a bigger heater, run out of fleeces or get a diesel fiesta.

Well this too will be my only car (no windscreen, heater, side screen roof etc) May be able to use the girls landy though if it snows! Oli.
