Bose Acoustimass
Dingz - 24/9/13 at 09:40 AM

I am thinking of getting a second hand Bose Acoustimass speaker set up, 2 double cubes and a base unit, as my existing Mission floor standers are a bit too big in our 'new' house. I heard some years ago and was very impressed with the sound but there seem to be lots of variations, anyone on here with experience of them?
Thanks

They're brilliant ! Do it

I've got the acoustimass 6 in one room and an acoustimass 10 in our main lounge.
The 10 is fantastic. They're double cubes (the 6 is a single cube)

There are a lot of people who think that bose is overpriced - it's expensive but I personally love it. The sound is amazing.

well i must say its a personal choice so go listen and make the decision based on your demo.

I personally dont like bose cause they sound rather boxee and fake for music, although fine for watching movies as a 2.1 or 5.1 etc

bose are crap. go on any half decent audio forum and you will find out why. i had huge speakers and after a lot of arguments with the other half changed to satellites and a sub when we re-decorated the living room. i ended up getting b&w MT speaker/sub package and a pioneer sc-lx82 amp, in terms of size vs quality/power/performance there isn't much out there that will touch it.

im happy because it sounds phenomenal for films, music, gaming etc and she's happy because it doesn't take up loads of space.
