Is it just me that falls for strange cars?
TimC - 5/4/08 at 10:54 PM

I'm looking for my next tin-top and I find myself with a worrying hankering for an old BMW or Merc. This evening's search has led me to a mint E28 525e and a 316 Auto (which is plainly ridiculous but just so pretty in 3dr and nice metallic paint

whats strange about that?! the old bmws are stunning

it could do with some nice alloys, being lowered and a decent looking exhaust right enough. maybe new paint

Lovely cars. Iv just sold a 98 passat tdi now i have a nice oldish 94 audi 80. I love older cars. Them older BMW's are far better and nicer than the new ones.

Want to buy Amanda's Corsa ?

Go on, I know you love Corsa's

I'd love one of these again - had a couple back in the 80's.

Hmm I like those Citroens, the earlier ones even more. When I move to France I’ll probably get one but I’m sure getting parts here would be a nightmare and their quite complex

Parts availability is OK and they are actually dead simple.

The engine is an air cooled flat 4 and really easy to work on - the whole of the front of the car unbolts and two people can lift the engine out by hand. The suspension is easy to work on as well.

They last for ever as well, as long as they have regular oil changes.

The exhaust is a bit fiddly, but not complicated.

So, Mr Whippy, not so young after all.
You too remember when Citroen produced cars that were years ahead of the competition, in style and technology.
What happened?
Their current claim to fame is that the new C5 looks like it was made in Germany!
How sad.
