Pay Pal - warning!!

I and others have received an email supposedly from Pay Pal claiming my account was to be scrubbed in 3 months unless I confirmed my details.

Here's the rub, the mail asks for:-

email address
password
credit card number
pin code

I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone but for Gods sake do NOT REPLY to this mail in any way!!!!

I'm sure the scam catches many out and they find they have money removed from their account!!

It's very credible, even down to the PayPal return address, except it's a dummy with redirection.

Yep,

I got it too, not so much of a worry for me as I knew it was a scam - I don't have a pay pal account!

Do as your uncle Rob says.

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Yup, I had that a few weeks back!

I just forwarded it to Paypal.

You should never reply to anything that asks for your password.

There's a similar thing going on with ebay accounts.

If it's not got https: at the start then it's not a secure site.
Don't tell them anything.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

SwiftPay informed me there was a payment of 1023.76 euros awaiting instructions. Again, looked very real, but I don't have a Swiftpay acc.
I contacted the real SwiftPay, and they've been inundated with complaints.

Cheers, Rorty.
