How fast does your other half drive?

Thought this poll might prove interesting?!

Decided to start this thread as my other half managed to clock 127mph at the weekend... Guildford to Glastonbury in a tadge over an hour and a half including stops for a tank of petrol and a mcdonalds brekkie for my hangover...

Ned.

I cant vote cos you havnt given the right slot.

My wife is what I would term a typical driver - 40 in 30, 50 in 40, and 75 - 80 on a motorway.

She seems to obey the rules and is in no way a tear ass driver.

Never been in an own fault accident in 20+ years.

First endoresement was 3 years ago - speed gun at 42 in a 30 road.

Got away with a 60 pound fine, no points cos she did an optional bad boys speedign course, for doing 36 in a 30 zone.

All in all, according to the current police doctrine, a blatent anti social, intent on causing injury, criminal.

The way the police are handing out prison sentances for high speeds at the moment, your other half may well end up meeting some real ones!!!!

Fast! When I first took her out for a spin on my CBR1000, she complained that I went too slow.

far too fast,

Mine got banned for two weeks for doing 135mph down the m4 IN MY CAR!!!!

The Court took pity on her when she burst out into tears and dished out a £500 fine, no points and a two week ban, which was done whilst she was on holiday.

If that was me I would have had a v. large book thrown at me, and told never to drive again.

My missus has only been driving since January and she's got a 1.1 fiesta, she can't speed if she tried

But seriously she's annoyingly slow !!

Yike! You couldn't post me an e-mail every time she goes out, could you?
I only live 1.5 miles from the A12...

My wife is a classic 'will go fast in straight lines but corneras must be taken slowly' as she assumes the car will leave the road in a wild ground-loop if at all pushed around a corner. Also she has an aversion to revving the engine beyond 6K as she assumes it will grenade (Toyota Carina GTi, redline 7200rpm!). Mind you, she's better than her mother who's Megane never gets above 2800rpm and she constantly complains that the car has no go. Think I'll try and persuade her to get a diesel next

My wife drives at a decent pace, keeping up with the traffic and occasionally speeding!

The thing that really worries me is that she will hesitate at times when she really should take some action...

For example, zooming along in the inside lane at 70mph, approaching a much slower car, but not pulling out into the outside lane when there's a more than decent gap in the next lane. Instead of going for it, she'll slow down and get boxed in while a stream of faster cars goes by. Arghh!

DJ (name abbreviated to protect the one who doesn't want her to see what I've said about her... )

theres a section missing in the poll, the one that would be headed 'thank f*** she doesn't drive'!

sure she'd be quite sensible though, but you just can't trust them!

all my instructor ever used to carry on about was anticipation and gear selection. so i get really annoyed by foolios who stop at an empty roundabout that was visable for 100 yard approach, and people who crunch the box back into first when they're already rolling down a hill... suppose its their box that will fall out eventually eh?

Have you driven in Basingstoke? they have a policy of putting up fences so that you cannot see the traffic at the roundabout until you have stopped at the line - bloody lunacy
