Which insurance company did you use? Adrian Flux asked me what I valued it at when I insured mine, surely if you built it you know what it cost and how much you put into it. Ask MK how much a built kit costs and use that for a guide.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Im with Adrian Flux. Ive told them its value is £6000 but they want the price confirmed by a dealer/official club along with pictures.

surely we could all value it seperately and give an average. The joke is any purchase is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. So short of selling it... How long is the piece of string!
What a materialistic world we live in!

Rich,
Paul Matty does written valuations for a £10 donation to charity. He's in Bromsgrove so perhaps not too far for you to go. Plus you'll enjoy looking round the showroom.

I can't guarantee a high valuation, but I suggest you could sound him out - at least you can be sure he will be realistic.

Otherwise that 2 hr trip to MK might be worth it to get max value - I suppose. Or any specialist kit car dealer in the magazines.

I agree with you, the agreed valuation option is definitely worth getting (IMO).

Perhaps phone some and ask what range of value they'd put on it before going to see them. Then visit the highest.

regards
Dave

Any independant insurance assessor can give a recognised and legally binding valuation on your car. I use them frequently to get a justified pre accident valuation of a damaged car. They normally charge £40-£60, could be cheaper if you take the car to them, or a pre arranged visit to a bodyshop near you (they normally visit bodyshops 2-3 times a week). Find them in the yellow pages

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

P.S. Adrian Flux set a 14 days limit but I think that refers mainly to the mileage declaration they need up front if you're on a limited mileage policy.

They will accept a valuation at any stage after that I think. You might want to check with them to get the pressure off a bit.
