Saw this crazy car the other day

I saw this crazy looking car the other day and set out to find out what it was.

I was very surprised when I found out.

Looks like an American car, was it designed to be sold into the American market ? Only I couldn't see much call for it on this side of the pond

IIRC this cost about 75grand in about 1978 (when launched) when a three bed semi (in reasonable area) would cost about 15k.

Ugly as sin, v. unreliable electronic inst. panel (hence late deliveries).

PoS really

Imho oc

It was designed by the same chap who did the wooden kit cars about 20 years ago, Hustlers, all you needed was 5 sheets of marine ply and a mini or 2 mini's if you had the 6 wheel version.

The marine ply idea seems to have been carried on to the Lagonda!

Was it William Towns?

Starting to look like the Biblical ark to me; the big boats of yore are steadily disappearing
