On the road in 2003.....?
Alan B - 31/12/02 at 04:42 PM

Ok guys, prediction time....

Who will be on the road in 2003 ?

Or, who is certain they wont be ?

I'm very confident I will be, barring unforseen disaster

Thats the plan...now i just have to stop changing plans and get on with it...

Alan,

Hope to be - work having a conference in Wales on 1st May. So, I'll have (hope!!!) to be on the road sometime before then:-)

As can be seen from pics, I may have set my target a little early!

Have a good New Year

It's strange but some time I look at what I've done so far and think I'm 70% done, only the next day that I've still got 40% to do! Getting the engine started would be great. Got all excited hearing the dip/main beam relays click for the first time today! Sad git. Have put some pics on site now. Hope to be finished for summer.

I'm determined to get my arse in gear and get the car ready for the Newark show in June...

I'm really not that far from finishing - it's just those small but endless jobs to go...

cheers,

David

Hello Alan.

I don't think I have spoken to you before but I will be on the road around July this year.

Built as per uncle Ron's book, keeping it simple to get it on the road and have a bit of fun. Then I will change anything I don't like over next winter.

Happy New Year.

Duncan.

I'd like to say I'd have it done in a year, given I'm going for a comparatively simple build, but I've got a strong suspision that the determining factor won't be time but money. I'm too early on in the build to give anywhere near an accurate figure though.

Is it just me, or is this the number 1 question that people ask. Whenever I mention that I'm building a car, without fail the next thing people say is "oh yeah? when's that gonna be done then?"

Not a chance.

Work is keeping me out the country for at least 6 months this year,

got to keep cheerful though have just ordered my shocks from dampertech

Best off luck to us all.

Dan

Hey, not to worry Dan, at least you'll have the benefit of more of our feedback to help you.

That's what it's all about, helping each other....

Good luck with work...

Alan

I hope to be finished for summer this year, I am at the rolling chassis stage STILL HAVENT GOT A DONOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car will be my sole form of transport, getting a bit pissed off with cycling everwhere, I does let me save enough money to be able to buy what I need when I need it though!

mark_rayfield - 3/1/03 at 02:33 PM

Optimistic I know, but I reckon there's a slim chance I'll be up and running this year. Should have a rolling chassis by the end of Jan...

I'm just about to start on the endless array of 'little jobs', and then probably find there are some big ones I forgot!!

Good luck to all clinging to the hope of summer fun!
