1600 cross flow
Spritely - 12/2/04 at 12:49 PM

If I'm buying a 1600 cross flow, how can I tell the difference from a 1300.
What, if any, variants are there of the 1600 and how can I tell difference just by looking.

Thanks

Les

1600 cross flow should have 711M-6015-B-A cast onto side of cylinder block 1300 should have 711M-6015-A-A . If your are looking for a 1600 I have a complete one for sale , but it will need a rebuild, rusty

Look at the front of the engine, where the thermostat housing is-a 1300 will not have much metal above this to the bottom of the head, whereas a 1600 will have about an inch of metal between the thermostat housing and bottom of head. Does that make sense??

the gap between water pump n stat housing is 2 fingers wide on 1300,4 on 1600
