Jet size numbers - what do they mean?
GaryM - 8/7/08 at 12:27 PM

Does anyone know what the number stamped on a carb jet actually signifies?

I've read that it could be the flow rate in cc/min or alternately opening diameter in 1/100ths of a mm?

Cheers
Gary

Yup, my jets were drilled out to 205, using a 2.05mm drill bit.

I think most jets are in fractions of a inch for the bore

What Guinness said. My 145s are 1.45mm diameter.

Yes - in most cases, hole size in mm x 100

Not always the case with Weber carbs though

True - I assumed that we're talking about bike carbs - but I seem to recall that Weber DGV jets were similarly marked.

The jet markings on Weber carbs have no meaning or logic...
