converting from xflow to bike engine
flyingkiwi - 28/9/03 at 06:18 PM

having nearly built the damn car I'm interested in changing from a 1300 xflow (no guts) to a bike engine. How easy is it to modify the existing car to accept the new engine and what bike engines do most people go for?

I would rather get the car sva'd and on the road before changing engines.

I've got a bog standard book locost running a 1300 xflow and escort live axle

Cheers
Chris

Very.............

take out the oily lump of iron including g/box n sling it, (not far though cos its heavy)

lower bike engine into postion, make up mounts, plumb in radiator, couple of electrical connections n start her up......

things you will need, prob you have a 1 peice prop at mo, with i live axle you need a center bearing realy, and you will have a gear linkage to make up too...........

engine of choice, Blade, ZX9, R1, the list is endless they will all make your pop out...........

do it

bargain, thats just the thing I'm looking for, I've got a one piece prop at the mo, but also have the origonal two piece prop from the escort, is that the one with the centre bearing?? I gather there must be an adapter out the that will join the prop to the engine's gearbox?

Right, its off to the bike scrappy to find me an engine to play with!!!

Adaptors for popular engines are easy found, i may just be able to help you with a blade engine if your interested, i have a spare, the car is sold but the guy dont want the spare engine, needs carbs and CDi box though as i bought it "bare" as a "spare" mmmmm that rhymes, i would be prepared to sell it for what i paid for it, which was'nt expensive as bike engines go, but would not let it go for a loss.......if your interested mail or u2u me

oh, anyone want a NOS kit ??? i have one of those left over too...........
