focus zetec s advice

Hi all I have a ford focus zetec s 1.6 ti vct engine ( DURETIC ) I am wanting more power and was thinking turbo or supercharger. is there any company that make a Turbo or SC for this engine. if so could you point me in the correct direction please.

also is there any other engine mods I can do.

last thing what is a same power to go to with the original drive shafts and original internals. I was hoping to hit 200bhp. with the supercharger/turbo charger cams and perhaps throttle body.

if somebody could get a list of what I could upgrade and best place to o the work for me that would be brilliant thanks.

I am from the uk.

or talk to these guys - specialist with the puma 1.7 which is similar to the TiVCT engine yo have - http://www.lightningmotorsport.co.uk/

I you want 200hp and turbo/supercharged then you probably need a budget of £3k+ minimum. Probably easier/cheaper to do a 2.0l duratec swap, ST150 i think was fitted to this version of tha car, or just sell your and buy an ST150, probably cheaper and better on insurance, easier to tune to 200hp - just TBs, exhaust and re-map.

Also remember if you are to close on double the power you may need to think whether the brakes and suspension need to be uprated. everything needs t be matched and balanced to have a fast drivable car, not usually thought about when chasing headline power figures.

You need to look at pumaspeed.

They will sort you out.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Hi,

First, it's a Duratec, not Duretic!

Second up, I've driven one of these, and found the handling next to terrifying on the stock power! You're going to need to do some work to get it to an anywhere near safe standard if you're putting 200hp in that thing. Think strut braces, coil overs, big brake kit etc.

You'd likely be much better off either dropping a bigger lump in or selling it and buying an ST.

As above, buying a higher power stock car might be more cost effective and fun!

Making slow cars go quicker can be scary on the wallet and pants.
