Vauxhall corsa 1.7 cdti 2003 fault code 251

My diesel corsa cut out today. Got recovered by Rac
Fault code is 251 spill valve which apparently is part of the pump
If it's the pump unless I can source a pre 2002 pump the the car is scrap as the immobilizer is in the pump Google suggests it could be the ECU that suffers from dry joints...
Anyone had experience in fixing?
It's the same engine as the old astra van

I'd love to give my imaginary friend a great big hug,

but this jacket makes it impossible.

Does the 1.3 use the same pump as the 1.7, I was under the impression they were different?

sorry, thats what came up on a quick search, so could well be different.
may be worth contacting the seller though, since he does seem to know about these types of pump.

also as you say, further searching does indicate it may be a controller failure instead.

took the ecu off this evening....
managed to get inside without damage
found at least 4 dryish looking joints
re-soldered, and lid siliconed back on
fingers cross for tomorrow when i goes back on

it seems to be quite a common fault

if there are several suspicious joints, I would try and remake as may joints on the board as I could.
very often, there are faults you won't see
