Yes, I do, actually a trick question, 'cos the auto doesn't have a flywheel, it has a flex plate. A flex plate is a comparatively thin piece of steel which carries the torque convertor and the ring gear, both of which are bolted to it.
If you are converting from auto to manual then you will need to change the crankshaft spigot bush for the manual type, and you will also need a dirt cover, the auto one has no hole for the clutch slave cylinder

Cheers John,

Was a bit concerned about where flex plate came into it.

Engine I'm buying has a flywheel (so manual?.
Gearbox is an auto. Following your recommendation, I've gone for the GM180. I've been assured it's ok!
Forty quid (plus forty quid carriage!!!) Thought it was a bargain, till carriage went on top.

As it looks like I'll be converting manual to auto, does anyone have a flex plate / spacer? and starter.

Naturally being a skint Locoster (with a wife who's keeping her eye on my budget) would like it all very cheap.

Thanks and

ATB

If using the GM180 you will need to make sure you get the right flexplate!, the gm180 torque convertor has a different bolt pattern to the earlier BW type. Also doesn't need the crankshaft spigot.
See if you can find your way onto a Rover SD1 list or forum, also try http://www.rover-v8.co.uk which has a well used classifieds section
The starter is the same for auto/manual fortunately

My understanding (from my XJS auto) is that there IS a flywheel.

The flexplate is bolted onto that, and then the torque converter is bolted onto the flex plate.

Can't speak for the XJS, but the Rover info I've given is absolutely spot-on

Yep john is spot on with the RV8 stuff,if you hang about on the cobra build sites you would pick up auto rover bits for peanuts.
They all go manual and throw the auto bits away.
