R V8 Water Pump / Electric fuel pump

Chaps,

I understand that long and short water pumps are available for RV8.

Does anyone know how much difference there is?

I hung my V8 in engine bay for trial fitting at w/end and w/p v. close to front chassis rails.

I take it the "cone shaped bit" (about 4" long) is a viscous coupling - can I saw the excess off, just leaving the pulley?

Final point, has anyone hung an alternator where the mechanical fuel pump resides - normal place far too high for my liking.

Thanks and

ATB

Simon

Earlier(P6) water pumps are about an inch and a half shorter.

The other stuff........um........sorry....dunno!!

Cheers

Chris
