Can i a SOHC engine and gearbox with a Mk2 Escort axle and follow the book.

Which SOHC engine and gearbox do you mean? If you (based on your other post) you mean the Pinto then yes you can use it (I am) but it's a pain in the arse compared with a Crossflow.
