x-flow 1600 oil temp?

Oh, all our guages work except the oil temp- checked the sender, and resistnace does vary with temp, but... well, the dial doesnt seem to move. Its a vdo gauge from a scrappy, came with oil press (works) and volts (works). The needle moves with the aid of a variable resistor, so the gauge appears to be ok too... it shows from 60 deg to about 160 or so, but I have no idea what a warmed up x-flow should run at.... any ideas?

For what its worth, I have a racetech oil temp gauge fitted with the sender in the sump. After runs of 40 miles plus, the gauge only just registers. After hard running, it only goes to about 50-60 degrees. Your gauge may be working but the oil doen't get up to temp.
