T9 box to Crossflow

Hi,

I have a Sierra T9 box and wish to fit it to the 1600 crossflow (at the machine shop at present). When the motor returns it will have the sierra pressure plate fitted after the flywheel is lightened.

I was told to ge the backing plate from a Pinto Cortina to get the starter motor in the correct place.

Two questions.

Is the starter motor from the Xflow and 4 speed suitiable to use with the t9 bell housing (It was reconditioned by its last owener so I would like to use it) or do I need to get a sierra unit?

The backing plate from the Cortina is quiet different around crank area (same radius but pressed area is different). Will I need to modify something here when the motor returns?

Thanks Blair
