R1 Mini, first startup!

Hey guys,

It's 2 years and counting now on my R1 mini project, and today I finally managed to get her running! It's a momentous stage in the build and a big boost to my motivation to get her finished, as lately I had lost a lot of my desire and interest in the project and just wanted to set fire to it at times....but not after hearing the soothing sound of the R1 engine burbling away! I have to say a big thanks to Malc at yorkshire engines as he supplied my engine but also helped me overcome the last few wiring gremlins in order to get it to fire. Here's a little clip of the moment of truth....

Good one....

These projects go in fits and starts.
You have just reached one of the nice milestones. As you say, it boosts your enthusiasm.

Dont woory YOU WILL GET THERE, as long as you DONT GIVE UP.

The last long haul will be doing all the minor nif naff and trivia bits right at the end of the project!
Keep at it.
Little and often is the key to progress.

Well Done!!

I gave up on my mini just as i had the witing done, engine started, flip front (Carbon), beam axle, coilover rears, full roll cage, fibreglass windows, and fibreglass interior.

It wasnt until it was on the back of the buyers recovery vehicle that i wanted to keep it. Too late by then.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.
