Rich,

I bought a Mini Cooper Cat like the left hand part of this MINI COOPER ONE CAT CATALYTIC MANIFOLD LAMBDA SENSORS | eBay UK

Its approx 5 or 6" across so about the same as my exhaust can. I cut the existing pipes off and had welded on some new straight pip to weld it in in front of my can. About to do my IVA when I get my date so will find out if its good enough!

It has some charp edges so a cover will be needed if thats a concern although I'm sure with a little work you could grind the edges round.

Edited to add a photo when I was mocking up. Std ZX9 exhaust can above the cat.

I have this ebay seller in my watching, UNIVERSAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER 400 CELL 21/4'' INLET on eBay (end time 06-Jun-11 18:51:04 BST). He always seems to have a few up for sale.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
