Cat Sourcing?

Here's a Question for all of those who have had to fit a catalytic convertor to their post-1995 engine.

Where can these be obtained? Are they available off the shelf, or is it yet another trip to the scrappie?

Will be running a silvertop Zetec, ex W-reg Escort, on bike carbs - eventually!!

Story so far:-

Having been given notice to quit my lock-up, (by this Saturday), have had to move everything back home (much to my Dearly Beloved's displeasure; her car now sits on the drive). There is another lock-up, which will become available later this month (I hope!!!!), after some very necessary re-roofing work has been carried out.

So work on the car has had to be put on hold, until I can get it re-garaged.

If you iva'd your car without a cat then you won't need one. Or am I missing something?

IVA tested, yes, but with 1970 xflow 1600, therefore no CAT needed. Have replaced said xflow with 2000-reg Zetec, and will have to get car MoT tested. As far as I've read on this forum, CAT deffo needed for that.

Unless anyone reckons otherwise.

I don't think you'll need one? Aren't the emissions levels set for the car at IVA, doesn't then matter what engine you put in.

I might be wrong of course
