2.0ltr pinto granada or sierra

i have been offered a 2.0ltl pinto with carb
out of a granada i have a set of dhla40S
will this engine be ok and does it have a shallow sump i seem to remeber somthing on this site about it

The 2 L pinto is a very tall engine. Even with sidedraught carbs, the oil filler cap is very high. You can get, or convert, rocker covers with oil filler at the rear, where the bonnet line is higher. The sump is very deep but again you can get alloy shallower sumps and/or shorten the std one - usually done by reducing the depth and adding an extension on the side to maintain the oil volume. Plenty of reference on here probably if you search. Pinto is heavy but nice usable engine for torque and power (nominally about 100bhp) and tunable. The exhaust, uncommonly, is on the offside which may be a factor if you plan to swap engines later.

(I'm running a std 2l pinto with std weber downdraft carb - almost no clearance under bonnet (no air filter) and alloy sump to avoid the sleeping policemen)
