renault filter?

Hi folks,

Has anyone fitted a renault 5 oil filter to there crossflow?
If so which model did you use? as the local motor factor suggested they wouldn't fit as the threads are a diffrent type.

Many thanks Dan.

Renault filter fits the 2.0 XE engine and is shorter than the Vauxhall one.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I use a Renault 4 filter - it's about 1.5" shorter, and allows me to remove the filter without lifting the engine!

If you can wait until tonight, I can give you a FRAM part number and a Halfords one.

Thanks David, Like you I don't fancy jacking the engine everytime i change the bugger.

I can wait as the new oil pump hasn't arrived yet, stupidly i couldn't find the spring in the relief valve after it shot across the workshop

Here we go:

FRAM PH 2874, as used on Renault R4 (950cc), R4GTL, R5L, R6 (850cc)

As originally recommended to me by Scholars, a company that tuned engines for Formula Ford.

Annoyingly, I can't find the bit of Halford's packing that I'd carefully set aside - it's somewhere in the tip that is my garage...
