Temp sender

Chaps,

Wired in my Mini dash (2 clock unit - temp unit until I can afford some proper gauges etc), and rRan the engine.

The temp went to the red, thermostat opened but no idea at what temp (assuming 88 deg as SD1 engine) and fan didn't come on.

Going to try a lower temp thermostat.

Any suggestions about fan switch. It's a Sierra unit (brown body colour), located on top of a coolant pipe by the thermostat. Can you get these with different temperature operation.

Thanks

ATB

Mini instrument voltage operation will be different from ford instrument voltage. Thereby YOU will get erratic instrument readings. Try fitting a ford temp gauge into the mini binicle.
And cooling fan switches do not work at different temps.

Enjoy.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

JGG

I'm using a Mini temp sender (which completely coincidentally is the same as the SD1 item), so readings should make sense!
