I was hoping to have some welded bosses in the top chassis rail like most people do must looks a bit high, I don't really want a cross rail as
I'm going to put
A diagonal across the rear hoop, what options do I have, anyone got any ideas?
Why not a cross bar and a diagonal?
Here's mine, my mounts land in a lovely place
With that height I think a cross member would be the safest option. May be different with someone strapped in, as the seat may then not be part of the equation.

For SVA (and still I believe IVA) the belt angle between top mounting point had to be level or higher than the harness hole in the seat. If not the
seat is regarded as structural and you need proof it's up to the job. Mine were checked by the tester with a spirit level.
Extensions on the bosses will pass but possibly not the best engineering solution. A cross bar on the roll-bar is probably better.
Would you trust a weld in boss to save your life in a head on crash? If not I'd re-consider.
If your determined not to have a cross bar then cut bigger holes in the seat and re trim
Or lower the floor!

I've lifted the front of the seat up by 25mm and it reduces the hight of the bosses to about 25mm above the rear rail, I think I would be happy with this, I've looked through pictures of mk's and mnr's and they all seem to use this method, most have the mount boss below the seat hole so unsure how they pass iva
