Attaching throttle cable to pedal
dunk3 - 20/3/18 at 03:44 PM

How have you all attached your throttle cable to the pedal.

SJ - 20/3/18 at 04:05 PM

Mine is attached with a clevis.

Drilled a small hole through it and threaded the cable through, then popped a bicycle type clamp on the other side.

Soldered bell type ends on the cable, then a use a clevis on pedal with a quick release pin so I can change cables without tools

Same here hole through pedal with a clevis in the middle. Easily adjustable then as well

Lazy question, as I could just look at my carb when I get home but....

Does there tend to be a clamp at the carb end of the throttle cable that allows for adjustment. I.e. you draw the cable through some kind of clamp and then bolt it down when it's the at the right tension?

If it does - something like this:

looks the ideal way to attach the end of a standard bicycle brake inner cable like this, to the accelerator pedal:

And if the split pin was replaced with an 'R' pin - even easier to change?

Most bike carb throttle cables are a push pull type system that connect to each side of a circular pivot, I drilled a little hole in mine on one side of the arm for a spring so it will return to closed and you will only need to use a single cable system.
