Position of prop in tunnel - MK owners
Banana - 22/3/17 at 08:49 AM

Just looking for some opinions on why my prop appears to be located higher than most through the tunnel.
Or is this normal?

Would be interesting to see images of other peoples setup

Im trying to fit a new gear lever, but there is no clearance.

You can see the images in this thread. (3rd post up from the last, you may need to click the images to view)

Looks about the same as mine.

But the bottom pivot on the lever is a lot longer than mine. I would make up an extension bracket to lift the lever pivot point.

About 2/3 down the page.
The Indy RR has a hoop welded onto the chassis top

Ah that's what could be the issue, have you been supplied a lever for a Indy RR by mistake?
As above, they sit above the chassis rail

Thanks for the info 40.

Yes it seems i have one for the RR. I assumed there was only one version of these levers floating around. I've seen several suppliers selling these.

Id be interested to see what people in the original Indy have done as a gear lever.
I've seen a few threads, but not a huge amount of info or examples.

May just keep what i have, as it works well, but fit a small gaiter over it..

A few I have. I fitted a false tunnel top, about 50mm above the chassis rails. The gear lever was extended the same amount with an ally tube.

That is so tidy.
How does the lever pivot, is that a sleeve/bearing?

Just a tube over a threaded rod held by circlips. But in hindsight it would have been
easier to make the tube to fit in between the top chassis rails or to fix 2 angle brackets
on top of the chassis rails.
