LSD Choice

I've got to the point now where the viscous LSD is too slow reacting (see http://youtu.be/UmBsmk-hA9g). Does anyone have experience of plate type diffs for sierra casings in lightweight cars? Which would be best suited?

Quaife have taken over manufacture of the Tran-x diff (http://quaife.co.uk/shop/products/tdx4z), are they any good?

Cheers, Adam

Its between Tran X or Titan...

Personally we were heading down the Titan route as its what the majority of Caterhams run and tran x as you mention are now quaife so don't know how they will be changing, whether the diff is still available etc..

Thanks guys, going to give Road and Race a ring and chat through it but it's nice to know what other people are using and would recommend as well as associated prices.

Yep, road and race are the guys to talk to. Good luck, let us know what you go for, we're possibly not far from taking the plunge too.

Plenty of LSD's out there it fit in either the 7" or 7.5" Sierra/Granada diff case. I believe the Quaife built TranX plate diff is only available in 7".

Former Tran-X staff now head up 3J Driveline. Had a loot at their stuff at the last Autosport show and it looks pretty nice. The Titan and Quaife TranX are both good units but there are others Like Gripper and Eaton.

The 3J units come in a wide choice of ramp angles etc.
