WTD Weber 45s

Is anyone parting with a set of Weber 45s? Its for a Zetec engine.

Why would you want to put webers on your engine. All they will do is drink fuel and be noisey, would be a lot better with bike carbs or injection.
Who agrees with me ?

Hello mate. Thanks for the reply. Im pretty new to car engine cars as all of my previous have been BECs.

What sort of ideas do you have?

Do some research, but You will be very disappointed.

The reason bike carbs came about in the first place, Dcoe Webbers on a Zetec or any other 16v engine.
The progression between the idle and main jets isn’t best suited to the multi valve engine. You can get the 152g five progression hole 45’s but there still very expensive and hard to get working at there best.

Of course you maybe a carb guru I was not.

Having already got a programmable fuel and spark ecu throttle bodies should be the obvious choice.

Ive been researching for 3 days lol....and yes......it is very depressing!!!!

If i could find a way of getting my supercharger noise down then id re install it as it made 230 bhp

I have no weldng/fabricating knowledge so would need something simple to fit. I did look into that but couldnt find anything suiatble. Id be after 220-240 bhp

My opinion is 220bhp ish is sensible for a standard Zetec and very easy to achieve but like the bike tb’s It makes more sense the more you can do for your self.

Most Of the last generation 2.0 hot hatches put out ~220bhp as standard and will do so for over 100k Miles. They use a small turbo, low boost, medium Cr.

For a Zetec, the blacktop Focus exhaust manifold lends itself nicely to the job. Small tubular runners that keep gas flow up helping a small turbo to spool faster and giving low levels of lag. Made of steel they are easy to manipulate and will with stand repeated heat cycles better than cheap stainless steel.

You can top mount the turbo, bottom mount it.

Biggest problem is heat management.

Bottom mount.
Ultra cheap. Just add turbo flange of choice. This one is a Subaru Td04





Down side, pipe work takes a bit more routing.

Top mount.

If it helps, I have a brand new original black top injection unit if it helps.

It needs a new home and I'm not after a fortune for it
