Zetec Build
the_big_1 - 13/3/17 at 08:17 AM

Hi guys,

I have a Zetec silver top bare engine already.
Don't want to get a doner car as no room for it etc.

I have a brand new black top inlet manifold complete with injectors and sensors etc.
Black top ECU and wiring etc.

Question is, would it run ok??
Wiring is no issue etc as I do this for work.

I suggest you search for posts from big_wasa, a user on this forum:

Here is one of his posts:

Yes it will run fine. Blacktop ecu = blacktop sensors.

By that I mean maf, tps, air and coolant temp.

The rest should be fine.

I've done it both ways and seen them through Iva.

It will top out around 135~150bhp depending on breathing mods.

Can you get the inlet manifold to fit the chassis and the steering column link.

Westfield produced a nice air box for there factory oem setup.

Fantastic!!! Top man!!!

What breather mods would increase the standard BHP?

Chassis will be fine, or should I say on CAD it is lol

Ditching the standard manifolds.

the_big_1 - 13/3/17 at 09:12 PM

Arrrrrrr you mean going the carb root?
That was a plan to go after IVA emissions etc.

big_wasa - 14/3/17 at 06:50 PM

No, Oem injection. But to release the full 165 ish the Zetec is capable of you would need to ditch the Oem ecu.

the_big_1 - 14/3/17 at 07:34 PM

Ohhhhhhh so there is a replacement injection ECU, also runs the ignition or piggy back? Same injectors?
Obviously long after IVA lol

No cross purposes here.

Increased breathing abilities with four branch exhaust and a plenum or throttle bodies all run from the Oem ecu will give around 150bhp.

To go beyond this will require a flexible solution like a mappable ecu.
