BEC clutch life expectancy

went to the vindicator open day today to have a look. people there were saying that the life expectancy of a clutch in a BEC is 2000 - 5000 miles. Shoching. How true is this? what have you all been geting?

Probably not far wrong but remember they are only 60-80 quid and take 15mins to change!!

I did about 4000 on mine, and decided to change it along with the oil and a few other bits and bobs. Sure enough the old clutch plates weren't that worn really, I stuck in the new ones, but it wasn't strictly necessary.

Mine you I drive a bit like granny popping down to Sainsbury's!!

Make sure to keep your left foot away from the clutch when not in use.

I got around 2000 out of mine. Needed to be changed as it was slipping at high revs

Got all new parts friction, steel pates, springs, gasket and oil for around 100 quid.

This was good going for me first clutch lasted 700 miles.

maybe a stupid question,

but from the construction perspective

its a interesting thing, do you have foto's? of the crash?

can you tell about the story ?? speed? etc?

it's not for laughing just to be able to upgrade current design etc..
or knowing wich parts are important in the chasis.

hope you can publish some foto's

I would also be interested to find out where the impact affected the chasis as well. You dont see many crashed 7 reps do you.

Just get the Barnet springs (I have heard that the EBC ones arent that great as they shrink)
