Driving to IVA ?

I know its legal to drive to a pre-booked IVA as long as you have insurance, but I'm having a bit of a major argument with one of my mates (he's a plod so thinks he knows best)

so to shut him up I need to know were it actualy says that in the legislation and I'm not getting anywere with google....

well, its more for imports, but does say you can drive an unregistered car to iva

as a copper he should know you can drive any vehicle to a pre booked ministry inspection, regardless of if it is registered, taxed, mot'd, all it needs is insurance

I was reading throught that site but not getting anywhere.....


you don't happen to know which bit deals with the display of number plates do you ?
(as in diving without one the IVA or is it all the same thing ?? )

That's interesting section 22 paragraph 2 indicates that you're exempt for a vehicle identity check. Could that cover you for the pre-registration DVLA inspection? They are checking that the car is what you say it is.
