OT: WiiFit from Dixons for RRP (£69) + £6 post...
hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 01:25 PM

Ripped from another forum but I like the way it works, been after one for the misses for Xmas etc. And I didn't want to pay more than the RRP or buy it with a load of other games etc I didn't want.

Here it is (tip use IE as doesn't work in some browsers):

Hey all I just got the wii fit for the standard price (£69.99) with £5.95 for a garanteed delivery of Tomorrow for comet!!!
I dont know if they do it on purpose but the are a couple of reasons why they haven't sold out.

1. Fistly if you search for "Wii fit" on www.comet.co.uk you only get the packages...not the wii fit on its own so type this into you browser to go directly to the product:

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/446521/NINTENDO-Wii-Fit

2. They have "cleverly"? placed a "print product details" link over the buy online button so it is physically impossible to order the product on its own...however by looking through the other comet pages I worked out the java script required to add the item to the basket manualy. heres how you do it.

Go to the link "http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/446521/NINTENDO-Wii-Fit"

Now copy this java code directly into the browser address bar (including the semi colon):
javascript:OrderProcess(false);

This will add any product you are currently viewing into your basket. And hey presto you are taken to the basket screen and it contains one wii fit for £69.99!!

Lemme know if you have any joy, I only did it 5 mins ago and was working then.

Being delivered tomorrow (allegedly)

(EDITED to fix link)

Got one for the wife a few weeks ago from Game, none on display but asked and they had them in stock.

Can only assume there not displaying them due to limited supply and as an attempt to stop people buying them to resell at a profit

So if you don't want to order on-line ask if there not displayed!

I ordered one from Argos and they specify a delivery date. It only took 2 days

McLannahan - 17/11/08 at 07:07 PM

I've just tried this and it does work. Sadly I don't even have a Wii to try it with!

MikeRJ - 17/11/08 at 07:13 PM

Thanks for this, I'm also after one for SWMBO

hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 07:20 PM

I've repeatedly tried the Argos route and I've always missed it when they've had stock.

It might not worth but worth a punt as you've got nothing to lose.

You can't buy more than one per order so doing an eBay special its quite as attractive.

On one of the forums someone said they bought 100 from somewhere with stock.

£7k Although if its just to rip desperate parents off to the tune of £20 to £30 per wii fit I hope they suddenly ship in loads at £50 a pop and he makes a loss!

MikeRJ - no worries, hope it comes off ok.

I should know by tomw night as thats when they said they'd delivery by.

hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 07:24 PM

locoR1 - I heard some story that Game source them from outside the UK or via some other random company so if you have a warranty claim you get a major headache. Can't remember exact details but I'm sure a google would come up with something. It could be a load of rubbish or course.

Coredev - what browser are you using?

COREdevelopments - 17/11/08 at 07:28 PM

i got IE and mozilla, not sure what im doing wrong?
rob

hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 07:31 PM

Hmm should work with IE

You get the first page up ok and see the "buy it" button obscured by the "Print product info" button?

Then just go to the address bar and paste in that javascript line (inc the semicolon).

What happens when you do it?

Haven't heard that one! it looks like an original and works ok apart from being tiring trying to beat the kids, im happy with it and more importantly so is SWMBO

hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 07:52 PM

I'm not saying they are fake just that they buy them from another company other than Nintendo themselves so apparently if you have a warranty claim and send in a receipt from Game they look up the serial number on the computer and it doesn't come up with Game so they don't honour the warranty claim.

Thats how I remember what I read but I might be wrong.

And it could've been a crock anyway as is a lot of stuff you read on the 'net.

Even if it were true I'm sure you could kick off with Game in a bit way.

The more I think about it the more if seems wrong.

So I wouldn't worry Dave! If you were 25stone I might though

MikeRJ - 17/11/08 at 08:41 PM

Had a bit of trouble buying this, the webiste said there was a problem with my card after entering in the security password (which I've never had problems with before), so tried another and it worked ok.

hobbsy - 17/11/08 at 08:52 PM

Mike,

Some other dude on the forum I copied it from said this, mine went through fine first time so if yours was ok with a different card then it should be game on?

What day you got for delivery?

Game wouldn't stand a chance if you had a warrenty claim, they couldnt refuse you no matter where they bought it from....

If you did something wrong they could refuse, but they cant refuse on the excuse they buy from another country. It just isnt cricket

Jasper - 19/11/08 at 08:40 AM

Got one for my SWMBO a few months back at her request (carried it back from Crete) and I recon she's used in about 3 times..... I use it more than she does!

So if she asks for one them check she's really gonna use it, mine also had two £160 gym memberships and went about 5 times too ...... don't know why I bother really.

hobbsy - 19/11/08 at 08:41 AM

Mine turned up today (after I wasn't in yesterday to let it in) so should bode well for anyone else who's ordered one.

soggy 3 - 19/11/08 at 06:47 PM

hobbsy - 19/11/08 at 08:05 PM

Try a different PC or different browser.

As far as I can tell you're doing it right...

McLannahan - 19/11/08 at 09:11 PM

You copy and paste the first link into your browser's address bar.

Hit enter.

Page will load.

Check the details

Highlight the address in the address bar delete it and then paste in the

:javascript:OrderProcess(false);

Into the address bar.

Hit enter again.

It should now be in your basket?

Just tried it again and it still seems to work!

No worries dude.

I'd had the same problem so thats why I shared it on here as guessed I probably wasn't alone.

soggy 3 - 20/11/08 at 10:37 PM

Thanks from me too, mine arrived today.

MikeRJ - 21/11/08 at 11:58 AM

Mine arrived today as well. Oddly they have given me the title "Miss" rather than Mr on the label, wonder if that had something to do with the payment problems I had?

Anyway, thanks for the heads up Hobbsy, that's one more present sorted
