Which type of rubber have you put between an aluminium bonnet and the scuttle + nosecone?

Has someone perhaps pictures?

Better than my Dutch, I've used a U shaped rubber trim about 19mm wide, sorry have no pictures. Think I got it from Woolies at a show somewhere

dr-fastlane,

interesting avatar. Are you fitting full bonnet or just a half size one???

Im using u trim around bonnet edge but im also using foam tape around the scuttle, top of chassis and nose cone where the bonnets will sit.

How about a strip of thin rubber under binnet on top of scuttle/nose cone, old bicycle inner tubes could be ideal and 'low cost'. Just stick the tube to the under side of the bonnet with suitable glue.

Or cut strips from old car inner tubes etc.

Hello

I'm using foam tape, it compresses down nicely .

DarrenW: That photograph on my avatar is taken when I cut an Viento noscone in half and made it fit my +9 inch wide chassis. The bonnet is gone be an full size one.

I think that i gone use U- shaped trim like on the image below.

dr-fastlane - 27/3/05 at 07:56 AM

I bought some extruded rubber called 'fender weld' which is used for beetle fenders, looks good, and its cheap over here.
