donut - 28/11/06 at 07:23 AM

C'mon chaps, the shops are full of Christmas stuff, there's Christmas adverts on the telly and i have done half my Christmas shopping so where are all the Christmas avaters?

Could we have a competition to see who's is best?

ned - 28/11/06 at 07:29 AM

Andy,

I think you've come too early again mate, it's not even december yet.

bah humbug.

Ned.

RazMan - 28/11/06 at 08:04 AM

Yep, much too early
I make a point of ignoring all festive type things until well into December - bah humbug

David Jenkins - 28/11/06 at 08:58 AM

1st December is when I start to acknowledge Christmas... Bah! Humbug!

David

graememk - 28/11/06 at 09:10 AM

i'll show you some support andy

smart51 - 28/11/06 at 09:36 AM

IT ISN'T EVEN DECEMBER YET!

Christmas starts on the 24th of December and lasts for 12 days. Is that not long enough? It doesn't start the day after bonfire night.

I don't hate Christmas, I just can't stand the 6 week run up to it. I saw some mince pies in my local shop with a best before date of the 30th of November. They don't even last until the same month as Christmas. Stop it. Stop it now.

chockymonster - 28/11/06 at 09:40 AM

Had my first mince pie last night.
Free with our Tesco shopping delivery as it's now "christmas"

Oh, I only chose the avatar cos it's pretty

AMEN to that. The way that christmas starts getting hyped months before it happens is bloody ridiculous.

graememk: Thanks for the support in these difficult times

martyn_16v - 28/11/06 at 10:15 AM

Working in a christmas grotto from the first weekend of November every year tends to make you hate christmas by about the second weekend of November every year It's like groundhog day, listening to the same carols over and over on repeat all day, every day exactly the same as the last. Anyone remember the film Falling Down? I know how he felt...

mookaloid - 28/11/06 at 10:15 AM

Oh why not?

If it brightens the place up a bit

GavBurns - 28/11/06 at 10:59 AM

My avatar is a bit snowy does that count?

iank - 28/11/06 at 11:12 AM

There you go, as it's you.
But I'm changing to something else if I get bored

JoelP - 28/11/06 at 10:29 PM

OK...

RazMan - 1/12/06 at 09:02 AM

Ok then ...... if I really have to

iank - 1/12/06 at 09:09 AM

Nothing wrong with Christmas, fine pagan fertility ritual and feast.

Of course first the christians tried to knick it, now the capitalists are doing their best to turn it into a pure sales exercise, but all the important pagan symbolism remains pretty much intact.
