I used to love tuning them up to 80bhp on Gran Turismo. They were great for racing against mates who'd never played it before as well, as they were so slow they could control them from the off.

It's been done, saw one at thorney island show(victory wheelers) in 2005.Had a kawasaki zxr750 lump iirc, upset a few people with more 'exotic' machinery!
Also saw a kart with a fireblade lump in it!
