weber pump jets?
darren(SA) - 29/1/10 at 08:42 AM

I've just cleaned out my carbs and installed a service kit, but it doesn't sound like its squirting hence bogs down when I open throttles. Does this sound like pump jets or accelerator pump?

looking at a weber manual it does look like I remove the pump rods? I just opened and closed throttle to check the movement,

cheers
darren

Some Webers have ball bearings as part of the Acccelerator enrichment circuit.
Pretty easy to misplace or loose.

Pump pistons can stick down, also the hole in the pump jet is tiny so they clog up very easily.

thanks, i'll check it out in the next few days, i downloaded the manual so I see the ball bearing you're talking about,

looks like I fixed out, removed the top, took out the pump jets and used some compressed air.

however doing this I managed to get the the pump rod to actually pump out the wrong way, eventually I found a jammed valve or whatever it is directly under the the plungers cylinder (reached by the screw with the brass washer at the bottom of the carb).

After that, I could see the squirts every time I press the pump rod,

doesn't seem to bog down anymore,
