my first car accident!
just got back from the hospital, had my first crash today...only problem is i was on a bike!
i even saw him coming but a way off, indicated, counted to three, moved over... and he had put his foot down!
cue me bumping down the side of his car and then barrel rolling along the road.
Nothing broken but my right side is a mess, bandaged up with some magic cream and the tendons in my right wrist and leg have taken some damage.
Apparently i need to go back soon for them to assess the extent of the soft tissue problems.
the fella did stop but was determined to enforce his version of events. loads of others helped out too, so thanks to them.
I then rode on to the train station and caught the train before realising the extent of the damage and getting in touch with mum to take me to the
hospital.
took me ages to write this 1 handed .. just wanted to share

Speed and 4 wheels is great for me. Speed and no wheels even better, but....
Speed on two wheels I know I'd kill myself so me and bikes stay clear of each other.
Glad your OK
Chris.

Glad to hear you are OK, bit of a steep learning curve, but many a minor first accident has had more damaging results. Hope you recover 100%.

Sorry to hear that Craig - hope no lasting damage incurred!
As above, make sure you lodge it with his insurer if only to ensure the statistic is counted.
I've had a few knocks from cars - only minor, but it does shake you.

Any ruling should go in your favour anyway as it's automatically deemed the car driver's fault nowadays. Get a good solicitor and you may
never have to work again
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Hope you feel better soon mate.
On the legal side, Go to your nearest police station and report it 'IMMEDIATELY'. It was an accident on a public highway and as a law
abiding citizen it is your duty to report an accident with in 24 hrs. Failure to do so can result in prosecution. However if you were attending a
hospital for treatment to injuries sustained then you should get away with it, however, I bet slime bag hasn't reported it. As there is injury
involved, this makes it even more of a sin on the part of the motorist as he MUST offer you his details by law. So should plod actually do some
legwork and find the chappie he should be in VERY warm water.
HTH
(although from personal experiance plod could not trace a 2 year old metalic blue masserati, even with a clear picture of the car)

I'll second this one. Don't sell yourself short -- I had a bad one during my 2nd year of uni. I took the "high road" and only
took compensation for the damaged bike and days missed at my part-time job. I missed 6 weeks of school and lost the year, which cost me thousands plus
the wasted year.
Tendon and "soft tissue" damage takes ages to heal and you'll end up with restricted motion and the ability to tell the weather if
unlucky.
Sue the prick back to the stone age...
