Now that I closed the gap around til radiator the temp i the enginebay is quite high.
My copilot had his leg burned just from the air flowing into the passengerside from the enginebay.
Something had to be done to keep BHP up.
Bought this airbox from Pipercross.
As it was from MNR:
Had to make a new backplate:
Filter is inside the box:
Air is sucked in in front of the radiator:
I donīt think there will be much "Ram effect"
I fits....but close.

How tall does it sit off the flange?
Should help nicely, some 'ram air' induction going on their too.

have you considered adding vents at the back of the engine bay? should give the hot air somewhere to escape

Its raining like in Pakistan at the moment.

Ye sorry i meant how tall off the backplate? Does it have a filter anywhere? Looks like just what i was considering making soon
In pic 4 from the top you can just see the filter inside.
It is a 100 mm filter that sits in the intake of the box.
Not like the oldstyle panel filter.
They reccomend 100 mm if you go above 200 bhp.

You will have to post back and tell us if it makes a difference.
You still need to do more to get hot air out from under the bonnet IMO.
Tried it at the Ring this weekend.
Normally I donīt hit the rev limiter as the engine goes a bit dull over 11000 rpm so it gomes natural when to change up.
BUT NOW !!!
Hit the limiter at least 15 times this weekend because it just keeps on racing up the scale.
Much more high rpm power and it feels much better.
Huge difference.
Noise is the same.

Where did you get this airbox? i cant find it anywhere? do they do it for a k2 gsxr 1000?

vent your side panels see photo in my archive this will reduce water temperature by around 10 degrees
Have you heat wrapped the parts of the exhaust piep that are still inside the engine compartment. That will reduce your under bonnet temperature quite
a lot, for not a lot of work / money.
This mod sorted all my problems.
The engine runs like never before now.
